Died during or before 1921. Confirmed living at that address in 1885, 1890, 1904, 1894, 1897, 1898, 1904, 1908, 1911, 1913.
He was a wharfinger (wharf master) at least from 1885-1897. An 1890 directory lists him as doing this for Edward Duder, a prominent Twillingate merchant who owned 72 schooners in 1880. In 1898-1911 George J. is listed as a storekeeper. In 1913 no employment given, probably meaning he'd retired. Belonged to the Church of England, as did all his decendents listed here.
Stuckless, Agnes. Born Oct. 1839. Youngest daughter of Capt. Samuel Stuckless of Twillingate, and was born there. Married George J. Smith, Nov. 1 or 17, 1874, at St. Thomas Anglican Church in St. John's. Listed as spinster and of Twillingate in the marriage record. 1921 Census lists her as the head of the household. Belonged to the Church of England.
Smith, Isabella (Isabel). Born November 1875 in St. John's. Daughter of George J. and Agnes. As executor of George J., sold the house to the Parsons Sept. 22, 1923.
Smith, William G. Accountant. Born 1879. Son of George J. and Agnes. Lived at 16 McDougall as bedsitter at least in 1898, 1904, 1911, 1913. Married (prob.) to Minnie. Father of Katie, George, and Jessie. Worked for G. M. Barr as a clerk in 1913.
Smith, Minnie. Born 1881. Wife of William. Lived at 16 McDougall as of 1911.
Smith, Frederick J. Clerk. Born 1881. Son of George J. and Agnes. Lived at 16 McDougall as bedsitter at least in 1898, 1904, 1911, 1913. Worked for John Anderson and Co. in 1913.
Smith, Agnes. Born 1883. Daughter of George J. and Agnes. Lived at 16 McDougall as of 1911.
Smith, Katie. Born 1908. (Prob.) Daughter of William and Minnie. Lived at 16 McDougall as of 1911.
Smith, George. Born 1910. (Prob.) Son of William and Minnie. Lived at 16 McDougall as of 1911.
