I've compiled notes from all sources related to the house, as well as others, on the early owners and occupants. I've connected the Curtis family to others on the island. The Smith family is large enough and recent enough that I may be able to find their current-day relatives. As for Margaret Dalton, the original owner, she remains elusive. I don't know her maiden name, nor her husband's first name or military rank.
For each family I've included a summary of what I've found for each person who lived here, transcriptions of relevant source snippets, and some bits and pieces from the web that may or may not be relevant.
